RC Groups Discussion - Ultimate E-Starter thread?: "i reinforced my last e-starter with 3/8' spruce dowel rods the ENTIRE length of the fuselage (one down each side!), overlapping by 3' in 2 places -- that thing went through hell but the fuse never broke; only the nose got mashed up and the cockpit got damaged a few times... I did the same thing (1 3 foot 3/8' dowel) across the entire wing and that never broke either... all the wing damage would crack until it reached the dowel rod and then just stop... was hilarious."
