Painting the F-18, Canadian Tiger
"The entire plane is brush painted. I used a 1" foam brush for the large areas and then went in with a paintbrush for the stripes and other small details. I have a Paasche airbrush setup, but the Apple Barrel paint [from Walmart] lays down pretty smooth with a paintbrush so I decided to save myself some taping and masking. I'll probably airbrush a coat of Semi-Gloss clear Minwax Polycrylic over it when I'm finished, as a sealer. The good thing about acrylic paints is a good bit of the weight evaporates out while drying. I've hollowed out the canopy and nosecone which should offset any weight gained from the additional paint since it was flown last weekend." [slowjoe, rcgroups]
